Summer Break

To catch everybody up:

On Monday when I went to my first double header night, I made it to the final table and placed 6th.

Tuesday, I played in the Ring division, busted, played a sit and go, and busted.

So, to sum up, the spring season wasn't my best. At all.

But, I'm okay with that. Yes, it does feel strange to be at home instead of at the championship at the Muckleshoot Casino today. It is rather odd. I didn't do well this season and I didn't expect to make it to the championship anyway. So it's cool. I'm upset that I wasn't able to play as much this season due to many, and varied reasons (work, health, responsibilities, etc.) It's been a really busy last few months.

My mom is in the process of selling my childhood home, and that's a very strange feeling too.

This last season has just been very strange, and odd. Just a lot going on.

I am excited for summer break though, because I can polish up on some skills, rest when I need to, and re-focus on my play. I want to return in the fall and have a great season. My goal for the fall season is to win a division. I haven't really decided which division to compete in though. I feel like I'm a better cash game player than a tournament player, but I have been proven wrong about that before. (See above, where I busted early in the ring game.) I might take my chances and play a few different divisions and take it from there.

Well, with summer break, I can figure out what I'm best at.

My aunt called me the other day. They were out to dinner and ran into some neighbors of theirs who also play poker. Apparently, my younger cousin Max says, "My cousin Katie is really good at poker! They had her featured on a website! She's so good!" I love you, Max!

I'm off on vacation next week to see my aunts and cousins. I'm excited, because last summer I taught them how to play Texas Hold'Em. My aunts wanted to drop by a casino to show off my skills, but I politely declined. Perhaps I will take them up on it this year.

So, to the little casino near Montgomery, Alabama: Watch your back. The Queen's coming at you. :)
